365+ Days of Living the Dale Carnegie Principles

Day 667.  Sunday, January 20, 2013
I hauled my bags through customs at the airport. The line was long.  I was feeling ill.  I was moments from tears.  I bit my lip and did my best to stay strong.

I still had to find my car in parking garage and go to Mass.  My head felt like it was going to explode.

I made it to Mass.  As I was sitting there—my head continued to hurt.  I felt so weak.  My nose was runny and my chest felt congested when I coughed.  It was roughly 7:45 pm.

It occurred to me—I hadn’t eaten a proper meal today.  I had a Frappuccino in the morning— then we were shuttled to the airport and used our two hours trying to get our ticket, baggage turned in and get through security.  I barely made it to my gate. There hadn’t been time to eat.

So I went home, took medicine, ate dinner and went to bed.

The Dale Carnegie principle I eventually employed is from How to Stop Worrying and Start Living:
Protect your health and appearance by relaxing at home.

The lesson in this story:  Don’t neglect your health!
