365+ Days of Living the Dale Carnegie Principles

Day 841.  Saturday, July 13, 2013
I was feeling good when I left the cathedral.  But as I was driving I started thinking and doubting myself.

Thought process:  “Maybe my confession wasn’t good…”

I could see myself going down a negative, discouraged path in my head.

So I quickly changed my thought process.  I considered the words the priest told me and also focused on some advice my friend had given me earlier in the week.  And with that, my mind was set at ease.

The Dale Carnegie principle I used is from How to Stop Worrying and Start Living:
Fill your mind with thoughts of peace, courage, health and hope.

The lesson in this story:  Guilt, worry and doubt can weigh you down and can deny you the opportunity to move forward in a positive manner.  Set things right with God and permit yourself to move forward—to keep living—and to keep trying to do your best.
