365+ Days of Living the Dale Carnegie Principles

Day 934.  Monday, October 14, 2013
This morning I woke up before my alarm clock.  I was troubled—the house is a mess.  I didn’t do any chores this weekend and given that it’s Monday—it will be a whole week before I get to chores again.  The weekend is when I do chores.  Monday – Friday is when I dirty the house.

So I decided to get out of bed and instead of getting ready for work—I quickly cleaned the house.

I vacuumed.  Then I emptied out the trash cans throughout the house.  I paid some bills online.  Then I tidied up the kitchen and ran the dishwasher.  I posted the two Carnegie blogs from the weekend.

It took all of 15 minutes.

Then I showered and got ready for work.  I had an extra spring in my step when I left my clean house.

The Dale Carnegie principle I used is from How to Stop Worrying and Start Living:
Once a decision is reached, act!

The lesson in this story:  Instead of wishing, hoping or complaining about things not improving or changing—make them happen.  Take action, right now.
